I qualified from Trinity College Dublin with a BSc Hons degree in occupational therapy in 2005.  Over the last 17 years I have worked with children and adolescents both in Ireland and in the UK, within the HSE,  NHS and private settings.  I have worked across a broad range of settings including clinics, hospital, community settings, schools and specialist school provisions.

I have worked with children and adolescents across a range of diagnostic groups including:

  • Autism

  • Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)

  • Developmental coordination disorder (DCD)

  • Global delay

  • Learning disability

  • Mental health difficulties

  • Further difficulties that present barriers to daily living

I work with children and young people in the clinic, in their homes and at school.  I currently offer outdoor, nature based therapy sessions also.

I am passionate about equipping and empowering children and young people, their parents, families and school staff, with the skills necessary to support them to reach their very best potential.  I often work with children and their families in relation to supporting play, social interaction, self care, motor skills, attention and regulation and mental health.

Postgraduate development includes:

MSc Modules: Occupational Science,  Art of Professional Practice, Global Health

Training: Sensory integration, cognitive orientation to occupational performance (COOP) approach, autism diagnosis (ADOS) and intervention, The Alert Program for self regulation.

"I would very happily and confidently recommend Sara-Jane to any family who is looking for OT for their child. Her reports have been extremely helpful and recommendations always practical and tailored to my son and his needs. She has built a strong rapport with my son which has allowed him to grow in skill and confidence!  We could not be happier that we found her!"

"I find Sara-Jane amazing, she was recommended by a personal friend, and I am so happy that we found her.

She has a wonderful calm character and my son really looks forward to sessions with her, as she makes learning fun.

She gets to really know the child as an individual, and work with the family to really support the child’s development.

Over the first block of sessions you could see my son's development progressed after every session.

In just a couple of weeks he learned to hold a pen easily to draw, and cut with scissors.

I would highly recommend Sara-Jane to friends and family"

"Sara-Jane has been remarkable in helping my son meet his sensory needs. Her recommendations are always practical, specific and well explained.

She went into detail on every point, outlining the context and reasons behind her guidance. As a result, he benefited substantially and the changes in him were dramatic with just a few weeks' therapy.

What's more, she got along very well with my son and he was calm, comfortable, and confident in her company.

I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Sara-Jane to anyone who has Occupational  Therapy needs - she has been nothing short of fantastic"

"Sara-Jane was absolutely lovely, incredibly competent and professional, providing a thorough assessment of our autistic son's needs and strengths and tailoring an approach to suit.

She offered a wealth of advice and materials and nothing was ever too much trouble. Her advice is currently being put to good use at our son's pre-school and it is helping to improve his concentration and in turn ability to attend to activities he previously wouldn't sit down for.

Sara-Jane was also kind, caring and always listened to our concerns, taking great care to feed our input into her tailored approach for our son. As a mum I couldn't recommend her enough."
